Derwent Lea
A superb family house with fabulous views. Derwent Lea sleeps up to eight in four bedrooms, and has a huge lounge, fully equipped kitchen , diningroom and large private garden. Pets and children are welcome, and it's ideal for two families or walking groups. Just two miles from Keswick in the heart of the Lake District, this is an ideal walking or climbing centre, or for visits to the hundreds of Lakeland attractions. One bedroom has a king-sized bed, another a double, the third a set of twin beds, and the last a sturdy, full sized set of bunks. Oil-fired central heating and an optional coal fire keeps the house snug in the coldest of winters. Outside the patio is well equipped and faces South with fabulous views over the valley and mountains

Applethwaite village is a quiet little backwater, well off the main road, and the views from the house are magnificent.
Keswick is a major Lakeland centre offering all sorts of activities. Hire any kind of boat on Lake Derwentwater, enjoy walks alongside the lake or far up the fells, go to the theatre or cinema, or just browse round the excellent shops. Lots of pubs serve bar meals and welcome children.
