Part of The Terrace, Windermere - a unique row of Three 4 star, grade II listed large holiday homes. Alice Howe is located in the heart of the village of Windermere, yet conveniently secluded from the hustle of the town in private grounds. These beautifully kept houses were designed by Pugin and as a result were awarded 'best contribution to the visual appearance to Windermere village' in 2008.
Alice Howe was named after the small hill behind the house and sleeps 14 in 7 bedrooms with 7 ensuite or private bathrooms. Ideal for a group holiday in the lake district. Every bedroom has a ipod dock radio alarm clock, white cotton bedding, television and some have DVD players.
It features 4 twin rooms, 2 double and 1 bunkroom. There are 2 living rooms so you can put the children in one and relax in the other. The front livingroom has an open fire, leather sofas, television, DVD player and a hifi with ipod dock. The rear livingroom has a TV, DVD jukebox with around 200 films, wood burning stove and leather sofas. There is a diningroom with a large table for entertaining a group of up to 14 which also features a Pugin designed fireplace similar to the one he designed for Westminster Palace and a Bose ipod dock.
The sheltered rear walled courtyard enjoys a view to Orrest Head and has a large teak table perfect for dining alfresco in the summer.
Alice Howe is the ideal large property to rent in the Lake District for a group of up to 14 for a holiday or weekend break and has been thoughtfully decorated and furnished and consequently has been awarded 4 stars by Visit England.
