Single property sleeping up to 8 guests
PIKE VIEW BARN is a stone built traditional barn conversion in the small hamlet of Whitehough, Chinley in the Peak District.
This property has a spacious ground floor with farmhouse kitchen, Derbyshire stone flagged floors (with underfloor heating!!) a separate dining and a huge lounge with a woodburning stove. Upstairs has a quirky layout with lots of beams and barn peepy-hole windows that gives 3 bedrooms, one en-suite & a family bathroom.
The barn nestles on the side of Eccles Pike owned by the National Trust and is part of a non-working farm. It has a large grassed orchard garden and has stunning views. Nearby market town Chapel-en-le-Frith has many shops, two supermarkets and all you could need within 5 mins drive. A two minute walk downhill takes you to The Old Hall at Whitehough which serves award winning ales and food. Opposite you have The Oddfellows Arms another Derbyshire pub so there is no need to drive!
Plenty of local attractions to visit in the car - the stately homes of Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall , the Blue John caverns in nearby Castleton, otter and donkey sanctuaries, Buxton Opera house and Pavillion Gardens, Bakewell home of puddings, village well dressings and a lot more besides.
Further afield finds Alton Towers, Matlock Bath and the cities of Manchester or Sheffield for those who crave city life or shopping.
