Badgers End is a 19C cottage in an idyllic rural setting at the end of a country lane, elevated and looking towards the Welsh Mountains. It is set within spacious private woodlands and garden. A fifteen minute walk takes you into the heart of the Forest and down to the River Wye.
The cottage has a cosy beamed lounge with a log burner, a stable door leading to a fully equipped kitchen/diner. Upstairs there is a double bedroom with en-suite and a twin bedded room with master bathroom.
Outside is a barbecue, and a dining area with extra seating overlooking the garden with a bespoke Wendy House for young children. There are chickens in the orchard where you can collect fresh eggs for your breakfast!
The Lion, the Witch and The Wardrobe was filmed here in the magical Scowles woods and close by Harry Potter, Merlin and Doctor Who were partly shot in nearby unique woodland settings.
A 20 minute walk away is the ancient village of Newland with its imposing 'Cathedral of the Forest' and a real ale 'foodie' pub. In another direction lies the market town of Coleford, with bakery, butchers, supermarkets, gift shops, bookshop and a cinema.
This is a quiet, peaceful haven, disturbed only by birdsong and the bark of badgers. Our aim is to make your experience unforgettable for its welcome, warmth and a blend of ancient charm and modern comfort.
