Buckle Barn is a beautiful listed Cotswold stone cottage in Upper Slaughter, one of the Cotswold's most sought after villages. With stunning architecture and the River Eye flowing between honey coloured stone cottages and grand houses, this peaceful hamlet is as good as it gets!
Set in the heart of the village, hidden behind the walls of a former dairy farm, the barn is the ideal retreat for a couple who want to enjoy stylish accommodation in a peaceful location.
The accommodation comprises a spacious open-plan kitchen and sitting room occupying the entire ground floor and a master bedroom and bathroom on the first floor. Buckle Barn is packed full of character with stone floors, vaulted ceilings and wooden beams. The modern kitchen is fully equipped with dishwasher, microwave and all conceivable cookware, glassware and crockery, but trust us, with the fantastic restaurants and pubs in the area you'll probably want to dine out more than once during your stay.
Upstairs the large vaulted bedroom offers an incredibly comfortable king-size bed with crisp cotton sheets and feather duvet; combined with peace and quiet you'll find it hard to get up in the morning. The comfort continues in the luxury travertine bathroom with super-soft bath robes, complimentary slippers, full size bath and a powerful raindrop shower.
Surrounded by picturesque undulating countryside there are some fantastic walks right on the doorstep. Many well-known Cotswold towns and villages are within easy reach including Stow-on-the-Wold, Burford, Chipping Campden and Bourton-on-the-Water, all offering good eating and shopping opportunities. The beautiful sister village of Lower Slaughter (with the most romantic street in Britain 2011) is a short stroll away.
