The Old Brewhouse self catering holiday cottage sleeps 4 and is a comfortable and charming place to stay by the week from Saturday to Saturday.
Our guests usually spend some of their time relaxing on this traditional Scottish estate: walking the dog, playing football on the lawn, or just enjoying the peace and quiet. This 1,300 acre estate whose owner won Glenfiddich's first Environment Award in 2007 may also be of particular interest to birdwatchers and wildlife enthusiasts as it enjoys a huge range of indiginous and migrating species of birds as well as wild boar, beaver and deer. Visitors can take advantage of private guided tours of the beaver wetlands, lodges and dams as well as helping to feed the herd of wild boar.
It is also a great springboard for attractions in the wider area of North East Perthshire and Angus. The cities of Perth and Dundee are around 25 miles and Alyth, an old market town with many shops, hotels and pubs is 3 miles.
The Old Brewhouse is a well built Victorian building, a cottage-like wing of the main house, converted by renowned architects and retaining many original features.
It has 2 bedrooms, 1 double, and 1 twin, dining room - which can be converted to a bedroom on request - a small sitting room with wood burning stove, a fully equipped kitchen, bathroom with bath/shower, and a porch with washing machine and deep freeze.
The cottage is warm and cosy and ideal any time of year particularly in the Autumn, Winter and early Spring when the landscape and unusual light, special to Scotland, combine to create a rather magical environment on the edge of reality, that is hard to express in words. The month of June is particularly good for sightings of the Estate's resident beavers.
