This spacious luxury property nestles at the foot of the Red Cuillin, which can be ascended from the back door whilst the Black Cuillin (Blaven) dominate the skyline of this spectacular valley. The land throughout this magical valley is largely unfenced being managed by the John Muir Trust and local crofters, meaning exploration in all directions is unhindered; should you wish to climb the stunning peaks or simply discover the hidden waterfalls and varied fauna that fill the area as Hawks and occasionally Golden Eagles circle above. The easily accessible shore line of Loch Slapin is only a minutes stroll away; otters and seals live in the Loch and are frequently spotted by guests. The open shore line next to The Old Church is a popular launching point for sea kayakers and the sheltered nature of the loch make it a perfect spot for both beginners and more experienced paddlers. The Old Church provides a fantastic opportunity to sleep within the shadow of these most stunning of mountains, enjoying and exploring the true wilderness of Skye without ever having to travel.

The Old Church is a large cottage full of character and provides a high standard of accommodation for up to 8 people. There are four bedrooms, each having the privacy of its own bathroom. There is one double with en suite and two twin rooms on the first floor; the second double bedroom with en suite is situated on the ground floor. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you could need including a dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer. We have a beautiful Rayburn oven to cook your meals on; alternatively there is a convection oven and microwave. The house is double glazed and centrally heated to ensure it is cosy on even the wildest of nights. The kitchen opens out onto the garden and decking where you have an uninterrupted view of the Loch and Black Cuillin mountains. The handcrafted dining table comfortably seats 8 people. The main living room has large picture postcard views of the mountains as well as comfortable seating for eight people. In addition to the living room there is a separate peaceful reading room, and a good selection of books, DVDs and maps are at the house.
