Two spacious traditional farm cottages set in a tranquil and picturesque area of Northumberland. Both decorated to a high standard. The cottages are situated on our family run arable farm. Both have private gardens and car parking. We are located 2 1/2 miles from the village of Cornhill-on-Tweed. Cornhill-on-Tweed has a hotel and a superb village shop/post Office. There are various pubs and restaurants within a 10-15 minute drive. Coldstream is our nearest town (4 miles). The cottages are about 3 miles from the Scottish border. We are an ideal location for exploring both counties.
Cherry cottage (sleeps up to 8 people)
4 bedrooms (double, single, twin and family room) The family room is accessed from the twin room. Two bathrooms one with shower cubicle. Large kitchen with original kitchen range. The fire can be lit in cold weather. spacious living room with coal/log burning stove. A french window leads from the living room to the garden. All the windows have pleasant countryside views. There are 2 back kitchens which have sink, dishwasher, washing machine, microwave and fridge-freezer.
Herd's Hoose (sleeps up to 6 people) two twin rooms and one double.
Living room with dining area and an open fire. A well equipped kitchen with electric oven, microwave and fridge-freezer. Bathroom with shower over the bath. Boot room with sink, pulley and washing machine. Again all rooms have countryside views.
Beds are made up before arrival. Towels are not included in the price. Electricity,logs and coal are also included in the price. Both cottage are fully double glazed and are heated with night storage heaters. In winter there is the addition of extra oil filled radiators. Both cottages have well kept gardens and garden furniture. A maximum of 2 dogs is allowed. There are tracks around the farm which are ideal to exercise your dogs or just for a quiet stroll. There is a large variety of wildlife to watch during your stay ( many types of garden bird, deer, barn owls, hares to name but a few) The Cheviot hills are nearby and offer spectacular walking. The Berwickshire and Northumberland coastline is rugged and beautiful. Holy Island is a 20 minute drive. The river Tweed offers superb fishing. Peaceful roads for cycling. You can hire bikes nearby. Horse riding is available 10 minutes drive. Nearest supermarkets: Coldstream (4 miles) Berwck-upon-Tweed (14 mile). Kelso (12 miles).
