Scotchcoulthard Holiday Cottages is situated in The Northumberland National Park on a small farm with 180 acres of land. It is surrounded by open land and forests. The views are spectacular with not another property in sight. It has a 4 star rating from the ETC.

At night we have no light pollution so the skies are magnificent. Although remote and peaceful it is possible to be in Newcastle or Carlisle within the hour. We have The Lake district not far away and we are in the heart of The Hadrian's Wall area.

There are four stone cottages with real fires/woodburning stoves. Acorn sleeps 2 and the beds can be split into twin. Hawthorn sleeps 4 but there is another bed on a gallery accessed by a ladder so only suits certain people! The Byre sleeps 4 with room for a truckle bed in either bedroom. Hope Sike sleeps 2.

All are fully equipped with linen, towels, heat and light, coal and logs and use of the swimming pool included in the price. Each cottage has a television and digital Freeview box. All have DVD and Cd players. All the beds are in bedrooms and all have their own bathroom. All the cottages have uninterrupted views with seating areas and patio furniture.

The swimming pool is indoor and heated. It is about 12m x 5m and has a depth of 1.2m.

There is a large fucntion/games room with a table tennis table, snooker table and darts board. There is a selection of toys, games, DVDs and books in a carpeted area ideal for younger children.

We have a small selection of farm animals, hens, Rare Breed sheep and pigs. At different times of the year there can be lambs, chicks or piglets! You are very welcome to help with the feeding of the animals.
We are happy for you to bring your dog and do not charge extra. We do not restrict the number of dogs and they alre allowed to be in the cottage without you. There are plenty of places for walking where the dog can be off the lead. They will also be able to play with our 3 labradors! We do take other pets and have had a cat, guinea pig and bird to stay! There is even room for a horse.

It is an ideal place for relaxing in peace and quiet or gentle and energetic walking. Children can roam wherever exploring the two streams and many small woods we have. We do have shed in one of our woods where it is possible to see red squirrels, badgers, foxes and deer.
