Our comfortable old thatched cottage in the pretty coastal village of Ringmore is just ten minutes walk from beaches and clifftop walks. Believed to be well over 400 years old, it may have been part of the original longbarn.
Downstairs, there is a roomy living room with tiled floor and the original fireplaces each end, one of them with a solid fuel stove. Next to it, an attractive wood-panelled dining room leading into a modern , all-electric kitchen fully equipped with washing machine, tumble drier, fridge and microwaven oven. On the other side of the living room off a small passage leading to an enclosed patio area, there is a downstairs toilet and separate shower.
Upstairs, we have a good sized double bedroom with an ensuite bathroom, a smaller double bedroom and two small single bedrooms, one of which has a double bunk bed. There is also a small washroom with sink and toilet. We have a nice size garden leading off the little private lane we share with the cottage next door.
This part of Devon is stunning with its spectacular coastal path and fabulous, safe sandy beaches including the village's own Arymer Cove which can only be reached by foot through a tranquil valley and is open to dogs all the year round Challaborough beach and Bigbury on Sea, with its famous offshore island, are within walking distance, too.
