One of Devon's Finest Properties in a Truly Spectacular Place With Everything For The Family.

They say a picture tells a thousand words, but with The Old Bakehouse it only tells half the story. Previously featured on the front cover of the South Devon Tourist Magazine, appearing in a number of books, magazines and national papers and subject to a multitude of works of art, this place is special. Described as "Iconic" by the Totnes Times, "Historic" by the Dartmouth Chronicle, you get a sense that there is something very special about the place. The Western Morning News said "nothing can prepare you for the stunning attention to interior detail". There are many properties with views of the water, there are fewer properties whose grounds adjoin it, but you have to look very hard to find a home that is literally on the water, where the water laps up the walls of the house. The closest has regular live music and barbecues on the quayside, the next closest was voted number 6 in the Sunday Times Best Days Out in 2008. There are also a large number of stunning beautiful walks including the famous Dart Trail, with an unexpected seating and barbecue area a short distance away. The property sleeps 10 adults and up to four children in five double en-suite rooms and a further double room. The property has a riverside roof terrace with hot tub and a private landing stage. The kitchen has state of the art Miele everything including a built in coffee maker, warming drawer for your coffee cups and a steam oven.

The house is over 250 years old but blends old and new, rural with nautical. For those who want to be connected there is broadband and a fifty inch plasma TV and the whole house has built in speakers and an audio system. Relax by the two log burner fires and enjoy the moods created by stunning light fittings and state of the art computer controlled lighting system.

Please note the landing stage has guard ropes and safety netting is available for those who have children. On the subject of children, the house has a travel cot and a high chair. There is also a children's height table and four chairs that has come out of the owner's wife's Montessori Nursery School. There are children's games, books and DVD's in the house. On the other side of the property is a nice walled garden with views of the River and the countryside where children can play, you can sit on the picnic bench and have a barbecue.
