West Banbury Farm Cottages in West Devon are set in 6 acres looking south onto Dartmoor, near the Cornish border.
The ten cottages are set around two courtyards and are furnished to a high standard. An ideal rural location for children and adults alike, with plenty of facilites on offer to suit all ages. Seven of the cottages have been converted from traditional farm buildings dating from the 16th century and three have been newly built.
We are ideally located for exploring rural Devon and Cornwall, with the rugged North Cornish coast only a short drive away. There is plenty to offer in the way of rural pursuits, such as fishing, riding, walking on Dartmoor and birdwatching and watersports at nearby Roadford Reservoir.
Within easy driving distance are National Trust properties that are well worth a visit, such as Castle Drogo, Lanhydrock and Buckland Abbey, charming market towns, interesting coastal villages, theme parks and much more.
There is also plenty to keep you occupied at the farm, with a heated indoor swimming pool, sauna, games room, grass tennis court, nine hole fun pitch and putt, children's play area and a wildlife pond with ducks. For those who wish to relax there are local beauty and pampering services on offer. All this makes our cottages such an ideal base whatever the time of year.
Baby sitting services can be arranged for evenings and weekends and if you wish your groceries can be delivered to your door by Asda or Tesco.
The cottages vary in size offering cosy accommodation for couples to our larger cottages ideal for families.
Mallard and Mandarin offer accommodation for 2 with the use of a sofa bed for an extra person if needed and Muscovey offers accommodation just for two.
Jacob's Pen, Plough Barn, Dove Cottage, The Granary and Harness Barn can sleep 4 people in two bedrooms, while Harness Barn has an additional single fold away bed.
Hay Barn has three bedrooms and can sleep 6 people and Wilhayes Barn can accommodate up to 8 in three bedrooms and with extra beds in a galleried sitting area.
All cottages have heated towel rails and electric night storage heaters, double glazing, fridge/freezer, washer/dryer, radio/CD, TV, DVD, microwave, shared BBQ's and garden furniture. There is a dishwasher in Wilhayes and Hay Barn.
We can also supply cots, highchairs, bedguards and stairgates for babies and young children.
