All the main Olympic events will be held in and around the Olympic Stadium in East London. Transport facilities should be very good so it is possible to stay in any of the Home Counties and benefit from easy public transport to the Olympic village.
The sailing events are going to be held at Weymouth Bay and Portland Harbour. There are no seats at this venue and there will be ticketed and non ticketed areas which will be finalised nearer the event. This venue is located on the western end of the English Channel which benefits from some of the best natural sailing waters in England. The Olympic football events will be held in stadiums all over the county. At the present time these venues include The Millenium Stadium in Cardiff, Hampden Park in Glasgow, St James' Park in Newcastle-upon-Tyne, Old Trafford in Manchester and Villa Park in the West Midlands.
A new mountain biking course is being built on a 550 acre sit at Hadleigh Farm in Essex. The capacity will be about 3,000 plus standing. The course is surrounded by stunning parkland.
The venue for the Canoe Slalom will be the Broxbourne White Water Canoe Centre in Hertfordshire. This is about 30km from the main events in London and in a rural countryside setting.

Eton Dorney in Berkshire is the venue for the rowing and canoe sprint. It is located about 25 miles west of London near Windsor Castle.
