About this property

Settled in Ambleside, within the Lake District National Park, is this pleasant, duplex apartment, Rothay. Enjoying far-reaching views of the town and countryside from its quaint balcony, this two-bedroom accommodation is ideal for two couples or a family of four seeking an adventure. On arrival, locate your allocated parking space before entering your holiday home, where you can leave your walking boots in the entrance hallway. Discover the bright and airy open-plan space, fit with Velux windows to soak in the views as you relax on the sofa with a cup of tea. The cream kitchen houses everything you need for a self-catered stay; rustle up hearty meals with the electric oven and hob, and as food is being dished, gather around the dining table. Carry the conversation out onto the balcony to admire the backdrop of hills, and why not uncork your favourite bottle of wine to celebrate the occasion? As the evening cools, retire inside and place your dishes in the dishwasher before choosing between two shower rooms to rinse the day away. When eyes grow heavy, take your pick between a king-size bedroom and a twin, both with bedside lamps for a night-time read. In the morning, get better acquainted with your surroundings, have some fun at White Platts Miniature Golf, unveil history at Armitt Library & Museum Centre to see exhibitions and be sure to visit Zeffirellis for Jazz music and a film. A scenic drive will lead you to the bustling Bowness-on-Windemere, where you can relax by Lake Windermere or try out thrilling watersports; afterwards dine out at a rustic pub for a home-cooked meal. Also within easy reach is the market town of Keswick, home to narrow streets to browse quirky gift shops, The Derwent Pencil Museum, as well as a theatre for live entertainment. For all this and more, choose a stay at Rothay.

Ambleside, located near the northern extremity of Lake Windermere, England's largest lake, is an excellent location for seeing the middle Lakes, with Grasmere and the Langdale Valley only a short drive away. There is lots to do here, including cruises, boat trips, and watersports on Lake Windermere, as well as several shops, restaurants, and bars to satisfy all tastes in the hamlet. The parkland at Waterhead gives excellent views along the lake and a brief strip of beach, while a walk in the opposite direction, following Stock Ghyll through woodland, leads to the captivating cascade of Stock Ghyll Force.

The balcony is a lovely place to enjoy a cold drink whilst enjoying the beautiful view out over the town. Ambleside itself is a beautiful little town with plenty of places to eat and drink.

The cottage is spacious and well equipped. We loved every moment in the property and hope to be able to return again at some future date. Even though the weather was mixed nothing spoiled the pleasure of staying in this warm, comfortable and spacious cottage. The selection of books both for reading and about the area of the lakes was excellent.

???? No plugs by bed-side table.(usb’s) Advert needs to say 2 bathroom but no en-suites. Clothes washing machine un- useable (it stinks, mold mildew) Other than that it’s a lovely location over looking the town
