Surrounding the farm, a network of footpaths provides miles of trails for you to explore as you discover picturesque local villages and glorious rural views. Heading to the coast, you can visit Maryport (4.5 miles), the historic town which dates back to Roman times with it's roman museum and aquarium for rainy days, or head along to the picturesque resort of Allonby (8 miles). Inland, the bustling market town of Cockermouth (3.5 miles) is home to a choice of great places to eat and drink. This is also a great base for exploring the northern reaches of the Lake District, with Bassenthwaite Lake within easy reach (10.5 miles), with local attractions including The Lakes Distillery (12 miles) and Whinlatter Forest Park (11.5 miles). Situated behind the ancient stone barn, the property is accessed from the parking area via a step up to the garden gate, into the private patio and through the French doors. Entering the cottage, you will find yourself in the warm and friendly open plan lounge/kitchen/diner. The pretty lounge is a perfect spot to unwind in, with comfortable seating and Smart TV . The breakfast bar is ideal for sharing your favourite meals, and the fresh, light and fully equipped kitchen has an oven, hob, microwave and fridge.
