With excellent walking from the door to the hills, why not take the circular walk taking in Cautley Spout and The Calf, via the river which affords super views of the area? Sedbergh dates back to the 13th century and is full of history and character. Fairfield Mill is close by, and shows the workings of a historic mill with some of the earliest weaving mechanisms and looms, and also houses local artists and craftsmen. Kirby Lonsdale is just a 20 minute drive away, a small and picturesque town with attractive independent shops and riverside walking with an array of quality cafes, pubs and restaurants. A little further is the village of Ingleton, and where you can enjoy the Ingleton Waterfalls Trail, a delightful circular walk taking you past a spectacular waterfall and through woodlands to open fells. Kendal is also a twenty minute drive away, making this cottage very accessible for the Lake District as well as the Yorkshire Dales National Park. The market town of Sedbergh in the Yorkshire Dales National Park offers narrow streets, shops and traditional pubs. The village of Dent is nearby and with golf courses, tennis, riding, fishing and walking routes in the area, there is something for everyone.
