About this property

A stunning, stone-built, semi-detached barn conversion, in a beautiful, secluded location in the hamlet of Pennington, three miles from the ancient market town of Ulverston. Fully renovated and lovingly restored, this Pennington cottage offers first class accommodation; the spacious, open-plan first floor living area features a beautiful kitchen with central island, a dining area and a sitting area with woodburner, as well as exposed beams and doors to the patio and garden. Guests have the added advantage of exclusive use of the inviting outdoor hot tub, ideal for relaxing after a day's touring or hiking. There is excellent walking and cycling, with the Cumbria Way and several pretty paths close by. Enjoy one of the many festivals of nearby Ulverston, or discover the sandy beaches of the Furness coast or the water sports of Coniston. The small scattered hamlet of Pennington is located on the stunning Lake District Peninsula, where hills and beautiful walking country form the perfect backdrop. Visitors can locate the start of the Haematite and Cumbrian Way footpaths here, and refuel at the good twin pubs at Great Urswick Tarn. The nearby ancient market town of Ulverston offers a good selection of restaurants, pubs, shops, a leisure centre and a cinema. It is now home to the only Laurel and Hardy museum in the world, because it is here that Stan Laurel was born. The National Park, sandy beaches and birdwatching opportunities of the Furness Coast are close by. There is plenty for the family to see and do, including the South Lakes Wild Animal Park, Muncaster Castle and the Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway.

Cant say there is anything we could suggest in improving the property or adding to it in any way. We had a thoroughly enjoyable stay and I personally have already recommended to other friends

The house was immaculate, well equipped and in a great location for exploring the coast and the lakes. The hot tub was a lovely treat and there are plenty of good places to eat in Ulverston. Would absolutely recommend
