About this property

Perfectly located for enjoying all the stunningly beautiful Lizard Peninsula has to offer, this cosy yet spacious cottage is set a short walk from the centre of the beautiful village of Mullion, famous for the dramatic Mullion Cove and five miles from the historic market town of Helston. Parking directly outside the cottage the moment you enter you will be taken by the welcoming spacious feel of the open plan living area with kitchen, sitting area and dining area. A fascinating collection of cult photographs, many signed and collected by the owner over 35 years adorn the walls and make most interesting viewing whilst enjoying a game of pool. With a large woodburner taking centre stage and really comfy furniture this is a lovely room to relax and plan the day ahead or reflect on the times spent enjoying this very special and unique corner of Cornwall. Outside you will have a choice of areas to sit out and enjoy a morning cuppa or relax after a day on the beach, touring or walking the breathtaking coastal path. A short enjoyable stroll will take you into Mullion village where a fine selection of shops, inns, craft shops and galleries await you. The Mounts Bay Inn here is particularly recommended for excellent locally-sourced food and a good range of Cornish real ales. With so much to do and see in this wonderful location a stay at Blue Oyster offers superb accommodation and can be enjoyed all year round.

Mullion is a village on the Lizard Peninsula, just over five miles from Lizard Point, the most southerly tip of mainland Britain. The village is home to a selection of popular restaurants, shops and pubs, as well as Mullion Cove, a working harbour.

The good: it's in a great quiet location which is always a bonus. The wood burner is very nice especially on a cold night. The internet is super fast and TV is great including netflix etc. the pool table was enjoyed by me every day. Nice kitchen including everything you need. The bad: unfortunately there where some stuff we didn't like the bed is very small for two people and is to soft for me and my wife we suffered from bad backs because of this. The shower was very nice but overflows all the time whilst dean did kindly explain to us why this happens it still made us feel like we had to rush and not enjoy the shower. The sofa was to low so no neck support. The parking is a little awkward because it's on a main road leading into mullion you have to reverse park and because the owner owns a car to your only left with a small space to park into. Even though we had some negative points to make all round we really did enjoy our stay thank you to Dean and his family for being great hosts

You’re not far from most of the local attractions, lizard and mullion coves being the closest. Can see us going back to see Dean and Bruce again in the future. Thanks again Dean and Bruce.

It has excellent facilities and a pool table! It has electric panel heaters which I found more than adequate in January! There is also a log burning fire should you wish to be warm and cosy. Mullion is ideally situated for exploring the Lizard. Mullion village boasts two good pubs, two supermarkets, great fish and chip shop with restaurant. There are two beautiful hotels on the coast within walking distance and the coastline is both beautiful and dramatic. The owner Dean is very friendly and helpful and nothing is too much trouble. This was my second stay in the Blue Oyster and I look forward to returning in the future. Highly recommended.
