We are so glad we did. If you're looking for five star luxury then this wont be for you but if you want character and charm then this will be right up your street. The cottage has been renovated by someone with an eye for detail which is quite quirky but tasteful, lots of little details which were interestingly done by a skilled practitioner. Ok it's not perfect, there were one or two niggles-the curtain in the bathroom fell off for example. Some on here have complained about damp and smell but they were either very fussy or a problem has been rectified. Yes the path leading to the cottage is behind a pub so it has bins and a small pile of junk etc but this was easy to ignore and there wasn't a lot of it. We took a bag of logs with us as we are used to having a wood stove and this came in useful as did the kindling we also took. The heating worked just fine and although it was chilly weather we were very comfortably warm. Nicely situated with a two minute walk down to the quay and dining equally close. We would happily rate this six stars and would be happy to return in the future

It was lovely and cosy and had everything we needed to cook meals and to relax in the evenings by the fire. The sea views from upstairs were wonderful and we loved the charming wooden features throughout the house. The kitchen knives could do with a sharpen but otherwise we had everything we needed to cook a roast dinner and a chicken pie, and to make breakfast every day. The Amazon fire was a nice surprise and meant we could catch up on some TV shows. We were a bit worried about parking but we were able to park across from the alley between 4pm-12pm every evening for free, and could move to a nearby Car park during the day if we were out walking. A parking pass for Lynton and Lynmouth is £15/4 days, £25 for the week which was a great price.
