It has a beautiful shoreline, old small streets lined with boutique shops, restaurants, and art galleries, as well as many local events such as the annual Dart Music Festival and the Port of Dartmouth Royal Regatta, as well as the Dartmouth Food Festival, which takes place every October.

Parking - the cottage enjoys an allocated space in a new private parking area opposite on Jawbones Hill (construction currently delayed).
