About this property

A seaside ground-floor apartment resting in Lyme Regis, Dorset offers the perfect base for your Jurassic coast holiday. With a communal garden and easy access to local attractions, 8 Buckfields is ideal for families.

Enter into a stunning open-plan sitting area that is spacious, light and homely, with a welcoming siting area with leather sofas and accents of blue throughout to remind you that the sea is only a short distance away, a great kitchen space with all of the home-from-home amenities needed to make your stay convenient, so the designated chef will be able to cook up a storm before presenting it on the central wooden dining table, and the high ceilings and large windows of this fantastic space make it airy and delightful, the perfect social space for the whole family. After a long day at the beach, shake the sand from your hair with a refreshing shower, before finding yourself in one of the two bedrooms available; a king-size with tasteful furniture, hints of red and plenty of storage and a twin with blue décor, ideal for children. Outside, a sitting area on a patio awaits your al fresco breakfast and there is easy access to the communal gardens where an extensive lawn makes a great spot for a picnic. The surrounding area of Lyme Regis is teaming with activities to fill your days with, beginning with an abundance of shops, delicious cafes and fantastic restaurants throughout the town centre, where you will be able to enjoy local produce and artwork. Lyme Regis boasts two museums, an aquarium and a garden, all great days out for the family, and there is the famous Lyme Regis Fossil Beach only a short drive away, where you will be ale to search for fossils amongst the rocks. Further afield you will find fun packed adventures at the Tunnel Tree Tops adventure course and countryside walks through historical sites such as Cannington Viaduct. Make a family holiday to remember with a stay at 8 Buckfields.

The delightful seaside town of Lyme Regis has much to offer its visitors, boasting a maze of narrow streets filled with craft and antique shops, galleries and cafes. Take a stroll along the world-famous Cobb causeway overlooking the ancient harbour, where fishing trips can be enjoyed, or try your hand at fossil hunting in the area. A generous welcome pack of goodies was much appreciated and the management company dealt with a minor maintenance issue promptly. In a town like Lyme Regis with narrow roads, it was good to have generous, secure parking.

We have stayed here many times over the last 10-12 years or so and have never been disappointed. It was frustrating the price was jacked up significantly this year, but we’ve noticed there are many properties still available to rent in July and August, so this is possibly symptomatic of the public voting with their feet. Good to see next year the price is back to where it should be. Something we’ve never had to do is call for help - one of the loos stopped working - but this was fixed the same day. Small moan above, but all in all we do love no’ 8 Buckfields.

Car parking within a secure gated community is a plus as is the pedestrian gate in the garden for shortcut access into town. The close proximity to Lyme Bay Holidays’ office means the property is found easily and quickly once keys are collected. The development was peacefully quiet whilst we were there, but good walking legs are required to get back up the hill after visiting the beach, shops, or the lovely restaurants in Lyme Regis. All in all, a lovely base from which to explore a lovely part of Dorset and East Devon
