About this property

A beautiful terrace 18th-century Grade II listed cottage with a picturesque garden and opulent interior. Perfect for two couples or a family, Appletree Cottage is in a fantastic location to explore Lyme Regis. Be welcomed into this historic property by the wonderful exterior, painted white, and the surrounding garden. A stunning sitting area with wood panelled walls and an electric fire-look stove encourages you to relax in the tartan corner sofa, planning the day ahead of you in this contemporary space. There is a wonderful kitchen diner, keeping the theme of wooden walls painted white and wooden flooring, where you can utilise the contemporary kitchen to create a heart-warming meal for the whole family, serving it at the central dining table provided, noticing how the homely décor and paintings creates a relaxing atmosphere within a space drenched in natural light from the French windows of the adjoining sunroom with stylish leather sofas, making this a perfect social space for the whole family. As the evening wears on, find your way into one of the two amazing bedrooms, beginning with a spectacular king-size with bay windows, stylish white furniture and calming pale décor, and a twin room with tartan blankets and artwork lining the walls, a room that can be set up as a second king-size, making this property perfect for two couples or a family. There is also a large bathroom with stylish furniture, grey tiled floors and a huge amount of space where you can enjoy a refreshing shower or a soak amongst the bubbles. Outside, a garden lined with beautiful shrubs offers two great places for outdoor coffee, with a table and chairs closer to the house and, through an intriguing archway of stone, you will find an extensive garden and second seating area. Just outside of this truly magical property you will find the bustling seaside resort of Lyme Regis, where dining out will leave you spoilt for choice with the sheer amount of cafes, pubs and restaurants, and there is the chance to visit two museums, Lyme Regis Marine Aquarium and Langmoor and Lister Gardens, all a perfect day out for couples and families alike. Take a stroll along the Jurassic coast, visiting Lyme Regis Fossil beach, where you can search for fossils hidden amongst the rocks, or take in the salty air with a picnic. A stunning coastline with an equally as stunning property, fall in love with Dorset with a stay at Appletree Cottage.

The delightful seaside town of Lyme Regis has much to offer its visitors, boasting a maze of narrow streets filled with craft and antique shops, galleries and cafes. Take a stroll along the world-famous Cobb causeway overlooking the ancient harbour, where fishing trips can be enjoyed, or try your hand at fossil hunting in the area. The scenic coastal path offers excellent walking opportunities and spectacular views of the stunning Jurassic coast, whilst the gently shelving sands and sparkling waters of Lyme Bay provide the perfect place in which to relax and unwind. A holiday destination to savour!

We couldn't lock the patio doors; this wasn't a big problem because there is a locked gate and the doors to the conservatory could be bolted, but this might be more of a concern for someone more worried about security. The garden is a bit overgrown, although that did not affect us much because the weather wasn't really suitable for sitting out; it would be more of an issue in the summer.

My only negative feedback would be that the barrier for the parking space is old and rusty and could do with replacing. Other than that it was great.

Such a fabulous location, easy to get to the beaches, shops, walks etc. The lane it’s on is so unique. Beautiful garden to enjoy the sunshine! Great facilities and decorated beautifully. Super cosy on a rainy afternoon! We are booking for next year now.
