About this property

A beautiful semi-detached barn conversion situated in the grounds of the owner's home and smallholding, surrounded by Shropshire countryside on the outskirts of the scattered village of Milson, close to the Worcestershire border. The cottage has been furnished to the highest standard throughout making it a perfect base for a romantic break in relaxing and welcoming surroundings. On entering the cottage the owner's attention to detail and personal touches are evident throughout. The open plan living area offers a very well-equipped kitchen, a dining area and sumptuous sofas and armchair located around the warming woodburning stove, perfect for curling up on after a busy day out. Make your way upstairs to the luxurious shower room and elegant king-size bedroom. Lovely views across open countryside can be enjoyed from inside the cottage, both on the ground and first floor. Outside, to the front of the cottage is a seating area from where the stunning scenery can be enjoyed, and in a sunny spot by the front door there are a table and chairs, ideal for dining alfresco. The nearby Saxon village of Neen Sollars has a wonderful village pub, which serves good food and real ale, while just 3 miles away the market town of Cleobury Mortimer has a range of individual shops, restaurants and pubs. Many lovely walks can be enjoyed in the area, and a short drive will take you to routes along Clee Hill and the Long Mynd. The Mortimer Forest also offers walks and cycle routes of varying lengths taking in many archaeological features and an abundance of wildlife, and is within an easy drive. Visit the riverside town of Tenbury Wells, or Ludlow, with its medieval street pattern and excellent restaurants. This is a wonderful cottage for a memorable holiday at any time of the year.

The small village of Milson boasts an 11th century church and beautiful unspoilt countryside. The nearby riverside village of Neen Sollars dates back to the Saxon times and is home to the popular 'Live and Let Live' pub serving real ale and home-cooked food. Just three miles away, beneath the shadow of the mystical Clee Hills, the pretty town of Cleobury Mortimer provides a refreshing selection of shops, pubs and restaurants in an array of Georgian and Tudor architecture, along with a striking parish church with an unusual, twisted spire.

Ham House had everything needed for a week's stay - plenty of storage space and good selection of kitchen utensils. Would definitely recommend Ham House to anyone who wants the peace and quiet of the countryside, lots of lovely walks from the doorstep and yet only a short drive to Tenbury Wells and Ludlow. A good selection of pubs and restaurants nearby also.

Incredibly peaceful and good accessibility to many locations. Lovely shower and extremely comfortable bed. Perfect seating areas to enjoy the sunrise and to watch the wildlife. Clare, the host, was warm and welcoming. Thank you so much. Steve and Julie

Amongst the quietest, most off the beaten track places we have stayed in. Ideally located for exploring the Shropshire / Worcestershire / Herefordshire areas. We will likely return in a less wet season to be able to do more walking in the area. It was very easy to find when we arrived, despite being up a farm track off a minor lane! The biscuits and the home pressed apple juice were a nice touch. We would definitely recommend Ham's House.
