Around and About

Situated below a limestone scar on the Craven fault, the delightful Ribblesdale village of Giggleswick is just across the river from the bustling market town of Settle. Packed with a host of 17th Century houses and cottages, the village is centred around the beautiful St Alkelda's church – a 12th Century construction – and the domed chapel of the famous Giggleswick School – a building which dominates the local skyline. The village of Giggleswick itself has a few small shops and pubs, though the nearby market town of Settle is within easy walking distance and offers a wide range of amenities. Ingleton is also close by and is home to an excellent walking circuit that takes in many of the area's spectacular waterfalls. For more experienced walkers, the stunning ‘Three Peaks' are close by.

From heather-clad moors and limestone scars, to market towns and the steady pace of country life - the sublime Dales await you! Where else in Britain is it as satisfying to sit and do nothing as it is to explore the numerous pursuits on offer?
