Lovingly restored throughout, Appletree Cottage welcomes families seeking a base close to the amenities of Whitby and Scarborough, along with the beautiful landscapes of the North York Moors National Park. After a day of walking, kick off your boots and get comfortable on the sofa, complimented with a TV and gas woodburner for when the temperatures drop. Wander over to the kitchen, where the designated chef can prepare a home-favourite, whilst the others set the dining table and open a bottle of fizz. To the outside of this Ebberston cottage is an attractive garden, perfect for sitting out and soaking up the sunshine. Whisk away upstairs and make yourself at home in the bedrooms, offering a double and twin, serviced by a lovely bathroom where you can freshen up. Those outdoor enthusiasts will enjoy exploring Dalby Forest, a real haven for cyclists too, whilst the local village of Ebberston has a lot to offer with natural beauty, streams, stone cottages, and an excellent inn. The nearby village of Snaiton offers pubs serving food and an award-winning restaurant or take the drive to Thornton-Le-Dale and find a wider selection of amenities, including a well-stocked convenience store and the charming Lavenders Tea Rooms where you can pick-up a sweet treat whether you are dining in or taking away. Nearby, in the town of Pickering, you can visit a magnificent castle from the 13th century and ride a vintage steam train along the North Yorkshire Moors for 18 miles while taking in the stunning landscape. Further afield, the activity in Scarborough is not to be missed out on, including the thrills of Luna Park and Alpamare, history at the remarkable Scarborough Castle, whilst the seaside town of Whitby is famed for its connections to Bram Stoker’s Dracula. However you choose to spend your holiday time, a break at Appletree Cottage is sure to impress.

Thornton Dale is a picturesque village in North Yorkshire's Ryedale region. Located on the eastern edge of the North York Moors National Park and just east of the bustling town of Pickering, this picturesque village is hard to beat. There is a Georgian inn, a home-style bistro called Brandysnap, and a tea room called Lavenders Tea Rooms, Gifts, and Takeaway. Get what you need at the corner store, and if you're looking for some fresh produce, there are two farm stands not far from the village. Pickering is a vibrant market town full of unique shops, the historic Pickering Castle, and the fun Flamingo Land Resort. Everything you could want was there in abundance. The Landlord was also excellent and very helpful. The welcome goodies were very much appreciated. I can't say enough about this cottage it was simply PERFECT. Thank you Rosy

The cottage was super clean and very comfortable. The bed especially was excellent and we both slept very well throughout our stay. We enjoyed the gas fire in the evenings and the kitchen was really easy to use and very well equipped. We have stayed in a lot of holiday properties and this was one of the best. Good value too, but it was February!

Central to everything that we wanted to visit including Scarborough, whitby, the moors and Nunnington Hall. Bedding good quality but beds bit creaky. Such a beautiful garden.
