A short walk along the high street from the cottage brings you to the sheltered harbour with a small sandy beach and the Heritage Museum and art gallery are well worth a visit. Browse the old historic pubs, tearooms and shops, hidden amongst the quaint alleyways and cobbled streets, of this pretty old smuggling village. Take an invigorating walk over the clifftops along the Cleveland Way trail and marvel at the breath taking views of the Yorkshire coastline. A 10mile drive from Staithes, brings you to the popular town of Whitby, here you can enjoy perusing its many excellent restaurants and interesting independent shops, before tackling the 199 steps, up to its famous Abbey. A trip on the steam railway from Grosmont is a must; an ideal way to enjoy the beautiful countryside, as you wind through its heather clad moors on your way to Pickering! The seaside village of Staithes, with its cobbled streets and back alleys, is something of an artist's dream. Its pretty houses and cottages are clustered around the old harbour and surrounded by high craggy cliffs. The village has a good selection of pubs, shops and tea rooms with a a sheltered sandy beach. The best views of the town can be enjoyed from the Cleveland Way which runs down the cliffside to the sea's edge. A superb base for exploring the Yorkshire Coast.

Parking available in Bank Top car park at the top of the high street, parking permit provided.

Two well-behaved dogs welcome, not allowed upstairs in bedrooms.
