About this property

Tucked away in Y Felinheli, Gwynedd, on the Faenol Estate, is this fantastic two-bedroom lodge, Glan Y Mor Lodge. Enjoying an exceptional location right alongside the coastal path and just paces away from the Menai Strait, as well as an interior boasting vaulted ceilings, exposed timber and stonework, Glan Y Mor Lodge is a superb dwelling for couples or a family of four. Upon entering the property, you will find two beautifully-presented bedrooms, a king-size and a twin, both with their own TV, one with DVD player, and plenty of storage. Continue on to the spacious living/dining room, where plush sofas, a wall-mounted TV with WiFi and a crackling woodburning stove await, a perfect sanctuary to return to after a day of exploring. Impress your guests with tasty dishes conjured up in the well-equipped kitchen, ready to savour at the dining table for four over a celebratory bottle of fizz. On warmer days, why not enjoy your meals alfresco out in the large rear garden, featuring three terraces, a dining area, and a bubbling hot tub for indulgent soaks. Explore the grounds further to find a delightful wooden clad pod games room where you can challenge your loved ones to a game of table football. End your day in the well-appointed bathroom, where you can wash away the day with a soak in the bath or freshen up under the rainfall shower whilst pondering the following days adventures. Explore the local village, where you can treat your loved ones to a well-deserved meal at La Marina, Tafarn Y Fic, or Garddfon Inn, enjoy a fun-filled family day out at the nearby GreenWood Park, or embark on a hike along the coastal path where you can expect stunning views. Continue onto Bangor, where you can explore the esteemed National Trust site of Penrhyn Castle & Garden, visit the historic Roman Camp, enjoy leisurely strolls through the picturesque Treborth Botanic Garden or along the Lôn Las Ogwen hiking trail. Be sure to check out Zip World Penrhyn Quarry, where you can ride along the renowned 500-ft zip line with exceptional views over the slate quarry and coastline. Next stop is Caernarfon, where you can tour the World Heritage Site Caernarfon Castle, dine at the popular Black Boy Inn Restaurant and Bar, or step back in time at the Segontium Roman Fort. Venture further to Llanberis, on the edges of the Eryri (Snowdonia) National Park, where you will find the Word Heritage Site of Dinorwig Quarry, the Snowdon Honey Farm & Winery, a wealth of watersports on Llyn Peris, and the Eryri (Snowdonia) Mountain Railway which will lead you up to the famous summit. For a day filled with fun, be sure to visit Zip World for an outdoor adventure like no other! All this and more awaits at Glan Y Mor Lodge.

Caernarfon, a historic town, and Bangor, a cathedral city, are located on opposite sides of the magnificent Menai Strait from Y Felinheli, historically known as Port Dinorwic. There are a few bars, a restaurant and cafe at the dock, a shop and Post Office, a beautician and hairstylist, and several excellent eateries on the neighbouring Island of Anglesey. The village is also home to a small, well-established yachting marina with an interesting lock (allowing boats to enter or leave before cruising down the Straits to the open sea). Eryri (Snowdonia), the Llyn Peninsula, and the Isle of Anglesey's magnificent beaches are all within easy driving distance from this charming region, so vacationers here are spoiled for choice.

The property was very clean in fact one of the cleanest we have been to. The raised garden has a view of the Menai Strait and, in April, was the best place to sit for the afternoon sun. We had a poor phone signal on O2 but could make calls on WiFi. If you are into golf bring some bats with you and look for Tyddyn Mawr golf course. 9 holes of very informal golf mostly par 3s over 200 yards. Only a few miles away. All in all a very pleasant holiday with lots of walking and chilled out evenings in the hot tub. The owner responded quickly to our couple of messages and came across as very pleasant and helpful. Thanks for the welcome pack. Would highly recommend.

..well equipped, very comfortable and very well maintained. It is in an excellent spot....peaceful, quiet and a short stroll into the village which has a great pub and a friendly local shop which stocks everything you could need! The location is handy for days out in any direction and the coastal path goes right past the house. We had a lovely week and were extremely lucky with the weather considering how bad it has been recently! The hot tub is perfect for a relaxing end to the day and we would definitely recommend this lodge.
