Freshwater East beach and the coast path are minutes away from your front door.  Beaches and outdoor activities include sandy Freshwater East beach, backed by sand dunes and with rocky areas to explore.  It rarely gets crowded and is good for paddling and bodyboarding.  There is normally an ice-cream van in the car park on sunny days.  The area around Freshwater is very popular with outdoor activities such as walking, climbing, stand-up paddleboarding, kayaking, surfing and swimming.  Freshwater West is a well-known surfing beach.  Barafundle is also lovely.  For walkers, the coastal path, east and west, starts pretty much at the front door.  A car is desirable in this area to help you enjoy your stay, although there are buses that can connect. . .
