The following properties and cottages are unusual in some way or have interesting character, features or location. If you want to stay in a fort or a windmill then this is the place to start looking. Renting a cottage can seem a little pedestrian, a little dull, and a little bit conformist. Our unusual properties to rent can never be described as such. From a lighthouse, to a stylish ‘50s trailer, to a tree house, or a fort, our unusual properties are unique in nearly every way. We have an amazing Fort in South Cornwall, where space is definitely not an issue, perfect for inviting the whole family, or all of your friends. A tree house is often seen as an object exclusive to the young – not so. With many beautiful tree houses now constructed around the country, offering amazing panoramic views of the countryside, as well as all mod-cons, the only thing they have in common with childhood toys is their distance from the ground. Escape to the seaside – literally – if you rent a lighthouse, right on the doorstep of the sea, and enjoy all that the fresh air, clean water, and peace and quiet can give. A yurt is the perfect place to get back to nature, just with all the 21st century’s advances nearby! Rent a converted windmill and really get a feel for the history of the place; built in 1824 it still owns its own mooring on the river Ant. Finally for that truly unusual experience, try renting an authentic 1960s caravan, looking like something straight off the pages of Vogue, this silver caravan to rent is an unbelievably original destination for a weekend retreat.
