Single holiday let sleeping up to 14 guestsRennie House is a splendid seven bedroom, Georgian town house, a level stroll along Georgian pavements to the centre of the historic city of Bath and all its major attractions. The interior has been sympathetically refurbished with a perfect mix of contemporary style and period charm. The gracious rooms, set over 5 floors, each have their own distinctive character, several with original cast iron fireplaces. Farrow and Ball colours are the relaxing backdrop to comfy big sofas, fabulous furnishing fabrics and original vintage furniture from markets in Normandy and The West Country.
Entering the house through the original Georgian front door, you will find an elegant hallway with hand carved wooden detail leading down stairs to the dining room and kitchen at the heart of the house. Mellow Bath stone walls, wood panelling and a black Victorian cooking range are the setting for a huge handmade oak dining table seating 14. Loungers can sit back on the old wooden pew from a Devon church and look on while enthusiastic cooks take advantage of the fabulously equipped kitchen. The functional, funky black wood kitchen with cream tiles and red accessories has a large range cooker, American style fridge and two dishwashers. Whether whipping up a snack or preparing a banquet, cooking here is a delight. Leisurely breakfasts after a night out are a special pleasure in the sunny, south facing dining room where the surrounding green hills can be seen over the golden stone buildings opposite. At night the warm furnishings and rich red alcoves make it a cosy but spacious room for suppers round the table. A well- equipped utility room with washer/ dryer and WC add to the convenience of the house. The back door leads up steep stone steps to a pretty courtyard garden ideal for summer drinks and BBQ’s.
There are seven individually decorated bedrooms spread over three floors, sleeping 14. Four have twin, pocket sprung 3 ft beds which can be zipped together to make wonderfully luxurious 6ft super kings. All the beds have been hand made in England by a small family run company, ensuring a night of relaxed comfort. One of the bedrooms has a pretty 3’ single day bed as well as twin/super king beds, offering flexible accommodation for families or groups of friends. There are two additional single bedrooms with 3’ beds. All the bedrooms have plenty of storage and good mirrors and three have TV aerial sockets. Duvets are goose feather and down with Egyptian cotton linen and each guest is provided with big fluffy white towels and individual toiletries.
The south facing sitting room has three tall sash windows with delightful far reaching views over the town to the green hills beyond. The restful colour scheme and big sofas make this room an ideal sanctuary after a hard day sightseeing or shopping. There is plenty of seating here and in the adjoining room which doubles as the seventh bedroom or a second sitting room if kids and adults need a break from each other. At night Bath Abbey tower and surrounding church spires are lit up to stand out among the rooftops. The 32” TV keeps you in touch with the outside world if need be.
Last but not least are the three beautiful bathrooms. Two are spacious rooms with double-ended baths and large walk in showers and WCs. The third is a small but beautiful wet room with WC.
