Cowrie is a recently renovated spacious beach-side bungalow located directly above Baby Bay beach in New Polzeath. It is a particularly good location for families with children all year round. It is great for surfing, beach games, sand castles, rock pooling and spectacular coastal walks (the National Trust coastal path to Pentire Point and Port Isaac starts just outside the garden gate). Polzeath has a famous surfing school, water sports, a number of shops, beach cafés and restaurants, and a golf course nearby. Whilst enjoying a quieter location on the edge of New Polzeath, Cowrie is still within a short walking distance of all the amenities.

The house has four good size bedrooms (sleeping maximum of 10 people). Bedroom 1 has a king size bed, sea view and a new en-suite bathroom with a shower over the bath, Bedroom 2 has twin beds and a sea view, Bedroom 3 has twin beds with zip-together mattresses and a sea view. Bedroom 4 (Junior) has bunk beds, a single bed and a Z-bed, it also has a flat screen TV and various children’s toys and books. All bedrooms have wash basins with shaver points. There are two new family shower rooms (one with a WC), a laundry room with a washing machine, sink, and a WC, and an outdoor après surf heated shower. The bathroom and shower rooms have heated towel rails and warm floors.

The family favourite Sun Room with its panoramic windows and lovely sea and coastal views is linked by double doors to the adjoining Sitting Room with flat screen TV, DVD player, games cupboard, folding table for card games and jigsaw puzzles and a comfy corner sofa provide a wonderful and flexible space for socialising.

The new modern Kitchen/Dining room is well equipped to give a real ‘home from home’ feel. There is an induction hob, combi oven, combi microwave, fridge/freezer and a dishwasher. The dining area extends through the French windows into a sheltered patio with rattan furniture – great for a relaxing breakfast or cup of coffee in the morning sun.

There is a separate Games Room with ping-pong table, magnetic darts and some other games and toys.

Cowrie has a large attractive two-part garden with wonderful sea and countryside views. A walled garden surrounds the bungalow and has a number of flowering shrubs, bulbs and primroses in spring and magnificent display of red hot pokers in August-September. The grassed cliff-side garden extends towards Baby Bay and has direct access to the coastal path. For relaxing in the garden there is rattan furniture, ‘steamer’ chairs and sun beds.

Other facilities include WiFi broadband, double glazed windows, modern thermostatically controlled radiators, a heated drying cupboard, an outdoor under cover drying facility and a portable barbecue.

There is parking for one large or two smaller cars in the parking bay at the rear. The house is accessed from the parking bay by six steps down to the patio and back door. There is also access from the front garden gate, where there is one step up to the garden level and easier access to both front and back doors.

All utility bills are included in the price (apart from the cost of phone calls). Kitchen starter pack, bed linen and towels are provided. Please, bring your own beach towels.

Short breaks are available during mid season only at £250 per night (minimum stay 3 nights). Sorry, no smoking and no pets.

Although it is not a designer ‘concrete and glass’ home, it is a warm, comfortable and very well equipped house with all the modern facilities in a superb location.
