This lovely 17th century farmhouse is situated a beautiful wooded valley surrounded by the Howgill Fells. Set in nearly an acre of private garden and woodland Goodies Farmhouse has a beautiful lounge with comfortable sofas, original oak beams and a open fire for coal and logs. Dining is around a magnificent 16th century oak refectory table and eight carved oak chairs.
The delightful conservatory has stunning views of the mountains and surrounding countryside. The newly fitted kitchen, with a beautiful granite worktop, is very well equipped and the utility room has extra fridge/food storage.
The old oak staircase leads up to the three bedrooms, a twin room, double room with a beautiful 5’ carved oak bed, and master bedroom (5’ bed) with lovely views; this room has a good-sized en-suite shower room. The family bathroom has bath and shower. All the beds are sumptuously comfortable with mattresses from Harrods and finest quality bedlinen.
For eating outside there is a terrace with table and chairs and parasol for shade, a simple barbeque and, of course, wonderful mountain views. The large garden is fully fenced for children to play in (with parental supervision) and has a background of mature trees against the magnificent mountain scenery. There are lovely walks straight from the door; down to the river for a gentle stroll, or for a more challenging walk, up onto the high fells.
