Two holiday lets sleeping 6 and 8

Found on the edge of the beautiful village of Mayfield, Four Oaks Stables and Hayloft have been lovingly converted into luxurious holiday accommodation for up to 14 people (+ 2 infants). Set within the grounds of the owners home, which offers 50 acres of grounds with fields and woodlands, Four Oaks enjoys its own private courtyard, lawn and fishing lake and is an ideal property for family holidays (sorry no parties or events). Built in 1870 and lovingly restored to include original features such as the stable doors and the mill stones from the original working mill on the estate, the accommodation offers spacious and luxurious accommodation including en-suites for every bedroom and a home cinema.

Four Oaks comprises of two properties next to one another: the Stables and the Hayloft. The luxurious conversions are approached by a picturesque half mile drive through woodland, set away from main roads yet within easy reach of the medieval village of Mayfield (voted best village in the Times 2017). The properties are two of a collection of three farm buildings nestled together on the 50 acre estate- the third is an unconverted barn which can be used for covered parking during your stay. Both properties are extremely spacious, offering over 3,800 sq ft in the Stables and 1,900 sq ft in the Hayloft.

The Stables (sleeps 8)

A spacious entrance hall leads through grand double oak doors into the Great Hall. A magnificent room with chandeliers, impressive oak beams and chestnut flooring (sourced from the estate). The room is light and airy with french doors on both sides and high ceilings. Large sofas and comfy armchairs provide seating for the home cinema- a 10 ft screen can be lowered from the oak beam and the projector can show over 500 films from the film server. It is the perfect space to entertain large numbers with a dining table that can seat up to 14 people and a finely tuned grand piano.
The country kitchen has everything you would expect from a property of this caliber. A 2 oven AGA and a separate electric oven and hob, two dishwashers, two fridges, a microwave and coffee machine. Granite work surfaces and marble flooring. An oak breakfast table with seating for 8.

The sitting room has beautiful rich mahogony flooring and a large 65 inch TV screen. French doors open onto the terrace and inner courtyard. The log fire and large cosy sofas provide a space for relaxation to curl up and read a book.
An oak staircase takes you up to the two bedrooms on the first floor.
French Rose Suite: 6 ft bed, wardrobes, chest of drawers, mahogany flooring, chandeliers. Marbled ensuite with french antique washstand, roll top bath and walk in shower.
Cornflower Suite: King size bed, hanging spaces, chest of drawers. Ensuite with bath and walk in shower.

The other two bedrooms can be found on the ground floor wing.
Orchid suite: Japanese inspired design with bamboo flooring, low hanging lights, king size bed and ensuite with jacuzzi bath, walk in shower and double basins. Stable doors to terrace.
Delphinium suite: Double bed, hanging space, chest of drawers, ensuite with walk in shower. Stable doors to terrace.
All four bedrooms are individually and stylishly decorated: Egyptian cotton bedlinen, fluffy towels, handmade soaps and underfloor heating throughout provide both luxury and comfort during your stay.

The interior courtyard has a Mediterranean feel with lavender, olive bushes, urns, benches and is overlooked by mature trees. This is a great space for al fresco dining, complete with an outdoor kitchen comprising of a gas barbecue, charcoal barbecue, sink and work surfaces and plenty of teak outdoor furniture. Enjoy a game of table tennis or a sunbathe on the loungers.
To the side of the property is a large lawn for ball games and a lake for boating, fishing or perhaps a picnic. To the front of the property is a koi pond, herb garden.
An unconverted barn provides the option of covered and easy parking.

The Hayloft:

Opposite the Stables is the Hayloft (sleeps up to 6). This includes two ensuite bedrooms with four poster beds (one traditional and one modern bespoke, made with walnut and maple), a large open plan living/dining area (table seating 6) and a separate country kitchen. Large TV and sofas. Separate shower room. Oak stairs to a mezzanine level provides two further sleeping areas, great for teenagers, as it is not enclosed but overlooks the open plan room below from the balcony.

Mayfield (1.5 miles) is a bustling medieval village with shops, deli, bakery, butchers, wine merchants, coffee shops and two fabulous pubs. Visit Batemans, the 17th century home of Rudyard Kipling, Bewl Water (the South Easts largest lake set within the beautiful Wealden countryside), or Pashley Manor Gardens in Ticehurst, All of which are approximately 9 miles from Mayfield.
