Single holiday let sleeping up to 7 guestsChic, artsy and eclectic – Beckheath is the perfect New Forest hideaway, tucked in at the southern edge of the National Park.
The cottage provides a gorgeous, contemporary, rustic retreat – New England meets the New Forest. The free flowing living space – kitchen/dining/sitting room – is simply, but beautifully designed and just perfect for socialising. Vintage American furniture rubs shoulders with the owner’s equine art collection. A feature fire place, leather corner sofa and deep velvet armchair offer plenty of hygge. The kitchen doors open on to a small, sun trap garden with sun loungers and a picnic table.
There are 2 double bedrooms (one a 4 poster) and a single 4 poster in the main house. These share a family bathroom. A further 2 guests can be accommodated in the Studio which has a double sofa bed and ensuite bathroom.
Walk across the drive way and you are out on the heath. A brief stroll takes you to Gypsy Wood, an arboreal oasis of ancient oaks. The Forest is a patchwork of pasture, heath and woodland and is criss crossed by bridal, foot and cycle paths.
A 15 minute stroll will take you to the East End Arms gastro pub and a 40 minute tramp through the Forest will take you to The Turf Cutters in East Boldre. A 30 minute walk and you will be on the Solent foreshore – wild and windswept.
Keen riders can bring their horses – the owner’s livery is a 3 minute drive away and there is stabling for up to 4 horses. For an additional charge, the owner’s super cute beach hut is available (£45 per day) in the quaint seaside town of Milford on Sea.
