Nestling in the small, moorland village of Gillamoor, within the southern side of the North York Moors National Park, this charming end terrace holiday cottage is full of traditional features.The cottage still has the original Yorkshire stone kitchen floor, exposed stonework, original beams in the lounge and double bedroom and stripped pine doors throughout.

The surrounding area provides an abundance of walking and cycling trails. The Valley of Farndale famous for its daffodil walk, and Hutton le Hole are close by.

Market towns at Kirkbymoorside, 3 miles, and Helmsley, 8 miles, offer a choice of shops, inns and tearooms and visitors can travel on the North Yorkshire Moors Steam Railway. York, Whitby and Scarborough are just over 1/2 an hour by car, the Yorkshire dales are also often visited by guests staying in our cottage.Castle Howard (home of Brideshead revisited) and Goathland (home of Heartbeat) are both around 20 minutes away.

The village pub and restaurant is just around the corner, they serve lunch and dinner as well as take away fish and chips and as a special deal for our guests breakfast can be booked the evening before for a cost of £7 each.

Bathroom with shower over bath, sink and toilet.Stairs to second floor bedroom with twin beds bedside tables and large cupboard with hanging space. The property has Wi-fi, oil central heating and electric all included in the cost.

Also included is a welcome pack of wine, flowers, tea, coffee, milk and soap in the bathroom.

No pets and within the cottage there is no smoking.

Price information

From £220 for a short break low season to £570 a week high season. We prefer Saturday to Saturday for the main 6 weeks school holidays but accept short breaks for the rest of the year.
