Step back in time and discover this glorious Jacobean manor house on the Somerset/Dorset border.

Nestled at the end of a lane in the tiny hamlet of Up Mudford, this stunning manor house makes an idyllic rural retreat for groups of friends and families holidaying together. Set in its own grounds and surrounded by fields, the property offers plenty of space in beautifully furnished accommodation.

Groups of up to 16 can be accommodated in 7 bedrooms. There is a ground floor bedroom for those who might find stairs difficult. Usefully, the majority the bedrooms can be arranged as a kingsize bed or as twin beds - so a variety of sleeping arrangements can be accommodated!

You wonít be getting under each otherís feet as their is ample living space. Gather together for the evening meal in the fabulous dining room - replete with flagstones, massive stone fireplace, log burner and mullioned windows looking out over the lawn. Choose from 2 sitting rooms, both with wood burning fires or if you are feeling creative, head for the large, well equipped kitchen with underfloor heating.

For those loathe to leave the 21st century there are plenty of mod cons to satisfy. For entertainment you will find a DVD Player, Satellite / Cable TV & WiFi. Donít forget the fabulous hot tub - the perfect way to spend a summer evening.

Why not have a tournament evening and head to the games room to enjoy a game of Snooker or Table Football?

Outside you will find a large lawned garden with BBQ, patio furniture, garden Boules and a climbing tower for the younger members of the party. The River Yeo winds through the fields at the bottom of the garden and here the snake of the river forms the county boundary with Dorset.

There are a great range of activities and things to do nearby, but why not arrange for the entertainment to come to you? The owners can help with arranging Shooting, Horse riding, Zorbing, 'Its a knock-out' style sports days, Fishing and Bushcraft activities. See their website for more details.

History buffs will love Ďmedievalí Sherborne with its Abbey and Castles and the intimate manor house of Lytes Carey. Other National Trust gems such as the Tudor splendour of Barrington Court, Tintinhull Garden and Montacute House are within easy reach.
