The vibrant cathedral city of Lincoln has a lot to offer any last minute holiday maker and is an ideal spot for a short break. From history to shopping Lincoln there is something for all tastes and interests here. On a stroll around the city, you will find the striking cathedral and near by medieval Bishops' Palace. In the Cultural Quarter there is the Lincoln Arboretum. This beautiful park contains gardens, lakes and fountains as well as a children's play area. Historically important and honoured with Green Flag status this is a wonderful place to spend an afternoon and it even has its own cafe.

There are several other lovely gardens within easy reach including Goltho Gardens and Petwood Gardens. If you prefer shopping to history there is plenty to choose from. Bailgate shopping in the Cathedral Quarter has wonderful cobbled streets and a selection of independent shops.
