Part of a quiet neighbourhood that sits within Sintra-Cascais Natural Park and just a short walk to a beautiful beach, Villa Tercia is a charming holiday home that’s ideal for exploring both the sea and the country.

With its neutral décor and a mixture of wood and tile floors, the villa has a light and calming feel throughout. Windows and balconies offer fantastic views over the garden and the pine forests beyond.

Villa Tercia is set over three floors to make the most of the large plot it occupies. On the ground floor is a lovely living room, with comfortable sofas that sit around a television and a fireplace, providing a cosy space for evenings in.

There’s also a chess table for some friendly competition. The children will love the DVD player and selection of DVDs for keeping themselves entertained. Doors open onto the outside space. A bright dining room features a table and chairs that seats up to eight people and further access to the garden.

The fully-equipped kitchen has everything you need to prepare and cook meals, with a breakfast bar for extra convenience. Also on this floor are five bedrooms. Four bedrooms feature double beds, with two having an ensuite bathroom or shower room each.

The fifth bedroom has twin beds and enjoys lovely views over the outside space. There’s a family bathroom with shower and bathtub for use by all guests.

To the first floor is a bedroom with double bed and ensuite bathroom with shower and bathtub. There’s also a double sofa bed and two extra beds for children available upon request.

On the lower floor is a fantastic games room with table football and table tennis. A bar provides the chance to enjoy your favourite tipple as you play games or relax on the sofa.

You can then have a meal at the dining table that seats up to eight people. A bathroom with shower is a convenient feature for when you’ve spent a long day in the garden or out sightseeing and want to freshen up.

Outside are terraces with outdoor furniture that provide the chance to enjoy alfresco meals or to simply soak up the views. The lawned gardens feature a private swimming pool, a selection of sun loungers and a built-in barbecue.

Being part of a neighbourhood, Villa Tercia is close to many amenities. These include restaurants, cafés and a supermarket within easy walking distance. A bus stop is moments away for connecting you to other nearby villages and towns.

Less than a 15-minute walk from the villa is Praia das Maçãs with its golden sands, azure waters and family-friendly features. Because the waves here can be quite strong, children might prefer to use one of the outdoor swimming pools that are right on the beach for splashing around.

There are also many shops and restaurants close by for picking up souvenirs and enjoying a leisurely lunch. Take the quaint tram for a scenic journey all the way to the historical town of Sintra.

If you decide to drive from the villa to Sintra, it’ll take you around 20 minutes to reach. Nestled deep within pine-covered hills, this town is famous for its pastel-coloured palaces with towers and turrets that soar high above lush forests.

The majestic hilltop Pena National Palace could be a drawing taken straight from the pages of a fairy tale. Built in the 19th century on the ruins of an ancient monastery, this Romanticist castle is a fascinating place to explore – inside and out.

The heart of Sintra-Cascais Natural Park is just under 15 minutes away by car. This area of stunning beauty is home to a range of rare flowers and animals and a number of nature paths that allow you to discover these.

Stroll between farms to come across serene valleys, windmills and stunning mountain views that open up before you.
