Located in the lush green countryside of Santa Gertrudis, Villa Lobelia is a gorgeous traditional home surrounded by lovely almond fields.
The garden features a charming dining area with a wooden table and benches at either side. Sunny lunches under the blue skies will be wonderful here. The dining table sits next to two separate tables each with seating for four which also make pleasant lunchtime spots.
You can also make use of the outdoor lounge placed amongst the garden’s greenery. The lounge seats up to sixteen people and is where you can enjoy social after dinner drinks under the starry night sky.
Inside, rustic stone walls provide a homely ambience and an authentic countryside atmosphere. You will feel as if you’ve escaped to your own private retreat, away from the hustle and bustle of the world.
The cosy living room is ideal for snug nights in around the television and fireplace. In this room, classic furnishings clash with modern wall art. All of the bedrooms are rooms with a view and so, benefit from dazzling natural light. The bedrooms feature a unique array of prints and patterns as well as pretty house flowers and smooth tiled floors.
From Villa Lobelia, you will be only five minutes away from the attractive village of Santa Gertrudis, which boasts a great selection of supermarkets, shops, restaurants and bars. You will also be close to some of the island’s most brilliant beaches including Benirras and Santa Eulalia beach.
Benirras is a dazzling blue beach popular with the island’s hippie community and is only a twenty-minute drive away.
The beach is also frequented by families, couples, nudists and couples for its vast natural beauty. However, in 2010, the beach’s vast array of fragrant pine trees were destroyed in a horrible forest fire. Luckily, Benirras has since recovered and is still as beautiful a sight today as it ever was.
This location is perhaps best known for its exciting drum down to sunset ritual that happens every Sunday evening. The ritual sees hippies engage in drumming as the sun slowly fades away and the island welcomes in the night. It really is a fantastic experience to be a part of and showcases what life on the island is like for its residents. This beach is a mecca for peace-loving travellers from the world over.
The village of Santa Gertrudis is a small and pretty town just five minutes away. Made for those who love wandering, the quaint stone streets are home to little jewellery shops, charming cafes serving homemade delights and of course, the central 19th-century church.
Sluiz is located on the outskirts of the village and is the place to go to discover unique and wonderful gifts, ornaments, clothing and souvenirs. Space also holds a bar and restaurants which sometimes put on live music during the evenings.
