St Mary's Hill Cottage sleeping up to 6 guests
This delightful mid-terrace cottage sits at the bottom of a pedestrianised cobbled street in the heart of Chester, just fifty yards from the River Dee. Although St Mary’s Hill Cottage is located on one of the city’s oldest streets, it was built in the 1970s and has a quirky and unusual layout that will provide you with a holiday home to remember. Enter through the front door and you will find two bedrooms along with the family bathroom. From here, head up the stairs into the superb open plan living area which has been furnished with great style to provide spacious and comfortable living accommodation. There is plenty of comfy seating with triple aspect windows ensuring that you can keep an eye on everything going on in the street below. The modern kitchen provides all you will need to prepare lovely home-cooked meals which can then be enjoyed at the breakfast bar or around the dining table. Sitting next to the dining area is a wonderful internal sun room with a stained glass window which provides a tranquil spot to sit and relax after a day spent exploring the city. From the main sitting area, you can take a few steps up onto a small split-level mezzanine sitting area, another little cubby-hole to hide way for some peace and quiet. Also accessed from the sitting room, the master bedroom is on the first floor and boasts an en-suite shower room which you access by going up and down a couple of internal steps. From the kitchen, you step through patio doors on to a lovely roof terrace, however head up the external spiral staircase and you will discover a real hidden gem; a second peaceful terrace where you can sip a glass of something refreshing as you watch the sun go down over the rooftops. Just a few yards away is the Bear and Billet, a pub that dates back to 1664, whilst within a five minute walk are numerous bars, cafes and restaurants. Head into Chester’s city centre to discover its Roman Walls and Amphitheatre, the unique Rows shopping walkways and Chester Racecourse. Just a couple of miles out of the city is the world-famous Chester Zoo; or you may wish to head into North Wales to discover its fantastic range of beaches, countryside and mountain ranges. Whatever you choose to do on your city break, a stay at this holiday home will leave you memories that will last a lifetime.
