Take yourself away to the quiet reading area, which is nestled in the alcove, offering a wide selection of fiction, information books and maps to explore. An L-shape sofa allows you to fully recline on a breezy afternoon. The snug is to the left of the porch as you come in, which also boasts a woodburning stove, filling the interior with a warm glow. The kitchen is marvellously equipped, with a cherry red, multi-functional range assisting you with all the cooking. Catch glimpses of a myriad of birds out in the garden, you may be lucky enough to see blue tits, gold finches and sparrows! Dine together in this bright and airy space, surrounded by the love and warmth of your family and friends. Upstairs are three bedrooms comprising a spacious king-size double, a double and a zip and link room with an en-suite shower and French doors leading out to a balcony. The family bathroom is finished in a sleek shade of white and grey, with a bath tub and separate shower getting you through your stay with ease. It is just a 2-minute walk to the pub in the village and nearby Altarnun boasts a local shop and post office. Launceston offers a lovely day out discovering its fine architecture, dominated by the ruins of its Norman castle. Pay a visit to Tamar Otter Park, with its British and Asian Short Clawed Otters, Fallow Deer and wallabies and Muntjac Deer roaming the 21-acre grounds. The Camel Trail offers excellent walking and is home to pert of the National Cycle Network. Enjoy visits to the wonderful coastal towns and villages such as Boscastle and Tintagel to the North and Looe to the South. This is a superb base for your next trip to Cornwall.

The small village of Five Lanes is situated just off the A30, less than 10 miles from Launceston and is home to the Kings Head pub and hotel, which was built in 1623. The pretty, neighbouring village of Altarnun offers a village shop, a Post Office and church, which is known as "the cathedral of the moors" plus long walks can be enjoyed around the local area. Eight miles away is the town of Launceston, on the Devon and Cornwall border. This town boasts wonderful architecture, including Georgian buildings in the central square, and is dominated by the ruins of a Norman castle sitting high above the town. Within driving distance is the Tamar Otter Park, or why not take a trip on the steam train from Launceston through the beautiful Kensey Valley? This area is near to The Camel Trail, which is part of the National Cycle Network. There’s plenty to see and do in the area, including visiting the seaside resorts of Bude and Padstow, as well as the city of Plymouth, and the stunning Bodmin Moor and Dartmoor are well worth exploring. A lovely base for your Cornish adventure.
