Our first time there and it truly is such a special place. We had fabulous meals at Bufala, Sam’s and Haveners and loved getting the taxi over to Polruan to the Lugger. The house is situated perfectly to explore and car parking was fine even on regatta weekend. It really is a beautiful house and the beds were so comfortable! The view just incredible, it’s a very special place. Unfortunately there were just a couple of things that let it down which can be easily rectified and it wouldn’t put us off staying again. Underneath the sofas in the living room were absolutely thick with dust, not just from one week but several weeks/months. The fridge hadn’t been cleaned when we arrived so there was butter smeared on the inside and food crumbs. The previous people had left food in the cupboards and bread bin which hadn’t been removed and the bins hadn’t been cleaned, they were empty but very very dirty. Also the drawers in the rooms had hairs in them and hair clips etc. I just feel when paying such a lot of money the attention to detail on the cleaning wasn’t quite there. It felt like all the surfaces that you could see had been given the once over but it all needed a really deep clean. Also lots of black mould in the showers. Perhaps when the owners have a break from bookings they could give it a deep clean. Also back yard at the back was unusable due to Japanese knotweed which had recently been sprayed with strong chemicals.

car parking was a bit stressful as it was half term so was very busy. The only thing that spoilt the stay was builders in the next property most of the week which was very noisy, especially if you wanted a nice quiet relaxing holiday.
