Completing the interior are two well-presented bedrooms, each boasting a bright and airy interior, ample storage and views of the garden areas. If you don’t feel like cooking one evening, venture into the nearby town of Launceston, where you will be delighted to find a selection of pubs and restaurants, as well as a choice of shops for picking up the essentials. Whist visiting the town, spend some time at the 13th-century keep or hop on to the Steam Railway offering a 5-mile round trip on the North Cornwall line. Alternatively, find miles of superb walking routes upon the Bodmin Moor or venture to the seaside resorts of Bude and Padstow, where you can soak up the sun at the sandy beaches during the summer months. Lynhays is superb base for a family getaway to this part of Cornwall.

Launceston is a large town resting on the Devon and Cornwall border and houses some fine Georgian buildings in the central square, and is dominated by the ruins of a Norman castle. This was our third year staying there. Very clean, all the facilities you need and very comfortable. Weather was amazing. The scones, jam and clotted cream on arrival was a nice touch. Unfortunately closing for renovation at the end of season, otherwise would definitely go there again. Owners are lovely and helpful but not obtrusive.

Virtually no traffic, very peaceful, lovely weather etc. Very clean, everything you need provided, including scones, jam and cream!

Very comfortable. I've never slept so well. It has a lovely large conservatory where we sat and watched the birds after days out. The kitchen is well equipped and stocked. There is everything you could need provided. The owner is friendly and helpful. She left lovely homemade scones, with jam and cream for us, along with a pint of milk. We had some minor issues our 1st night, but she immediately attended and fixed the problems, despite it being Easter Sunday! My only minor pointer would be that the bedroom furniture needs updating. It's very old and we struggled to open and close the drawers in the chest of drawers, but VERY minor. I can't recommend this property highly enough and we hope to return next year.
