About this property

Located in the quiet hamlet of Trevenning, not far from the quintessentially Cornish harbour town of Port Isaac, Trevenning Barn offers a rustic, countryside family holiday. With wide open rural views and extensive grounds to explore, this spacious and detached barn conversion nestles peacefully adjacent to the owners home and another, smaller holiday barn Trevenning Chapel. From the entrance lobby on the ground floor, guests arrive at the farmhouse-style kitchen/dining area, with French doors which open out onto a south-westerly facing terrace, a lovely feature on a warm summer's day. A handy utility/laundry room is accessed from the kitchen, and there is also a twin bedroom and shower room on the ground floor. Upstairs, the roomy lounge is a most convivial space, complete with traditional features such as beams and exposed stone walls. A cosy wood burning stove is the hub of this room (starter pack only provided) which has been thoughtfully decorated by the owners. There is a further bedroom on this floor, as well as a family bathroom. The garden at this property is a fantastic feature - a lovely, large open space (shared with Trevenning Chapel another holiday cottage on the grounds) ideal for family games and picnics. Guests are also welcome to explore the shared grounds and fields beyond the garden; perfect for walkies with the family pet! There is much to see and do in the surrounding area, too, with the beautiful north Cornish coast and its picturesque fishing villages close by, as well as some of the best beaches in the county. Keen cyclists will enjoy the Camel Cycle Trail, a traffic-free trail along the estuary from Wadebridge to Padstow and those who prefer walking will discover mile upon mile of unspoilt countryside at nearby Bodmin Moor. Ideally located for a simple break away from it all, Trevenning Barn makes a homely retreat whatever the time of year.

Port Isaac is a small and picturesque fishing village on the Atlantic coast, until the mid nineteenth century, it was a very busy port, handling goods such as stone, coal and timber. Stunning views of the harbour can be enjoyed whilst walking along the cliff top, whilst the harbour itself provides the perfect spot to relax and while away the hours. The delightful harbourside pubs offer a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. In the summer months fishing trips can be taken from the harbour. The popular ITV series, Doc Martin, is filmed in Port Isaac, and the village was also the location for Poldark.

We could have used the wood burner but saved it for when/if it suddenly got colder. Beautiful location and handy for revisiting old/popular haunts.

The owners are very helpful and nothing is to much trouble for them if you need anything. Property is very spacious and clean and the kitchen has all you home comforts and mod cons. I will definitely be booking to stay here again

Outside there was adequate parking and access to a large garden with chairs. The owner was helpful and approachable.
