About this property

Situated in an enviable position with panoramic sea views spanning Mount’s Bay, this modern terrace cottage, lies on the fringes of the highly popular fishing village of Porthleven in South West Cornwall. A gentle ten minute stroll from your door with the sea to one side, will take you past quaint seaside cottages and the long stretch of sandy/shingle beach to the pier, harbourside pubs and restaurants of this vibrant and busy little village. A year-round destination for lovers of coastal walks, good food, surfing or family seaside holidays. Pendrea has a wonderful and relaxed homely feel, with views from the windows giving a constant reminder you are beside the sea! A reverse level interior, you enter on the ground floor to a hallway and twin bedroom with en-suite shower room. A useful games room/utility will keep the children occupied with table tennis, and is ideal for storing bikes and surfboards. Stairs lead up to the first floor and two further bedrooms a king-size and twin with use of a family bathroom. There is a well proportioned kitchen diner, and a spacious sitting room with views out across the bay. A conservatory to the rear is a further light and airy retreat to unwind in the sunshine and enjoy a good book. Outside steps lead up to a terraced elevated patio garden, with ample parking on the drive. Porthleven has much appeal to all ages and interests. A surfing hotspot there are paddleboards available to hire from the harbour. A real foodie destination with a Rick Stein fish restaurant and the award-winning fusion restaurant Kota, both overlooking the charismatic harbour. Harbourside pubs are the perfect place for an evening sundowner after a day walking the coastal footpath that leads in one direction towards Praa Sands and the other towards Mullion and The Lizard. Enjoy the circular walk through The Penrose Estate that will take you across the infamous Loe Bar and alongside Loe Pool (Cornwall’s largest freshwater lake) to the market town of Helston where you can stop off for an ice cream at the Lakeside café. Further along the coast the magnificent Praa Sands beach is lifeguarded through an extended season and provides safe bathing and good surf for beginners. Day trips to St Ives, St Michael’s Mount and Porthcurno where you will find The Minack Theatre can all be reached easily, if you can drag yourself away from this lovely destination. Pendrea is a wonderful choice to suit all ages and interests at any time of year.

Porthleven is one of south west Cornwall’s hidden coastal gems, located near Helston famous for its annual Flora Dance Festival. Situated between Lizard Point and Land’s End, Porthleven retains the feel of a traditional Cornish fishing village, enjoying uninterrupted views of the Atlantic Ocean and the beautiful Cornish coastline. The iconic clock tower sits on the harbour entrance and the pubs, shops, cafés and restaurants cluster around the historic picturesque inner harbour, where there is plenty of boating and marine activity.

Night storage heaters ,always difficult to regulate the heat .Upstairs bath very deep and would be difficult for a person with mobility issues or to bath a baby .Yes there was parking for three cars but the slope would deter a nervous person .Dishwasher was a surprise .clothes washing facilities good .Accept 4 o’clock arrival ,but 9 o’clock departure early ,especially if six have to wash and children are involved .Rubbish bins got full ,and not clear if anything gets recycled .We would have hoovered before departure ,if there had been one .Two bedrooms did not have a window to fresh air ,might be hot in summer .Property was clean ,and kitchen facilities good .Good location to walk into Porthleven

It is well equipped, spacious and well placed for touring. The views from the house are a treat, the harbour area is well worth a visit and there are several shops and places to eat. We hope to have a third visit in 2024.
