While you're in the area, take advantage of the wonderful Great Flat Lode Trail, a 10km circular pathway, centering around the hill of Carn Brea, and is perfect for keen walkers and cyclists looking to explore this historical part of Cornwall. Carn Brea dates back to 3500BC and is considered the tallest hill in the area, boasting a large medieval castle and a Victorial folly, now converted into a delightful restaurant should you become hungry during your walk. If you fancy a drive, then travel towards the wonderful Godrevy Heritage Coast, which has a choice of beaches to explore, so you can spend the day topping up on your tan, swimming, or seizing the opportunity and learning to surf. Also within driving distance is Enys Gardens, a 13th-century, 30-acre estate gardens, manicured to perfection, offering champion trees, a history room and on-site café. Lanner is a village and civil parish in the heart of Cornwall, England. Traces of settlement have been found dating back to the Bronze Age, though it was first recorded in 1542 and grew as a copper mining parish during the 19th century. Some of the houses dating back hundreds of years still remain, showcasing its history. The village itself offers a small selection of pubs, restaurants, shops and supermarkets for fine food and local produce.
