About this property

April Cottage is a stone built detached cottage within the village of St Breward and only 10 miles from Port Issac. Beautifully refurbished the accommodation is comfortable and spacious with wood burner, exposed beams and traditional style range in the kitchen. Ideal for families and couples seeking a welcoming base to explore Cornwall, the cottage looks out to moorland countryside and has distant sea glimpses. The ground floor has the sitting room and a snug for some peace and quiet along with a large and well equipped kitchen with dining table, sofa and TV. There is also a utility room, and on the ground floor. Upstairs there are four bedrooms, two doubles and two singles plus a bathroom with bath and separate shower cubicle. Outside there is a garden with a mixture of lawn, paving and stone steps. St Breward village has a grocery store and pub, a 10 minute walk from the property. Excellent walks are guaranteed from the doorstep; discover historical Fernacre Stone Circle on Bodmin Moor or drive to King Arthur's legendary castle ruins at Tintagel, dramatically poised on the cliff top. Beach and surf lovers will delight in the stretch of superb sand and aqua waters at Trebarwith Strand reached across the rocks at low tide. The lively harbour resort of Padstow is a foodie paradise with celebrity chef restaurants, quirky boutique shops and galleries dotted along the pretty narrow streets cuddling around the colourful quay. From here, hire a cycle and enjoy the spectacular scenery of rugged moors, woodland valleys and picturesque villages on The Camel Trail, which links Wadebridge and the market town of Camelford, stopping for a picnic along the way. With a pretty private garden and patio for alfresco nibbles or sun-downer drinks, April Cottage makes a truly blissful retreat.

Port Isaac is a small and picturesque fishing village on the Atlantic coast, until the mid nineteenth century, it was a very busy port, handling goods such as stone, coal and timber. Stunning views of the harbour can be enjoyed whilst walking along the cliff top, whilst the harbour itself provides the perfect spot to relax and while away the hours. The delightful harbourside pubs offer a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. In the summer months fishing trips can be taken from the harbour. The popular ITV series, Doc Martin, is filmed in Port Isaac, and the village was also the location for Poldark.
