Situated on a working livestock farm and attached to the owners home, Withan Farm Wing offers very comfortable accommodation with plenty of character. On the ground floor is a large sitting room with wood burner, kitchen and separate dining area, perfect for family meals. There is also a single bedroom and a bathroom on the ground floor. On the first floor are a king size double bedroom and a twin bedroom plus a shower room. All the rooms are decorated to a very good standard with some lovely pieces of antique furniture mixed with the modern, in keeping with the character of the property. Visitors of all ages will enjoy the spacious garden, with its apple trees and sheltered sun terrace for alfresco dining. Situated down a private lane, only shared with the owners, this is the perfect place for a family wishing to escape to the country, yet is within easy driving distance to some superb beaches, including Poldhu, Gunwalloe and the ever stunning Kynance Cove to name a few. Withan Farm Wing is situated in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty on a footpath which leads down to Frenchman's Creek in just 10 minutes, Made famous by Daphne Du Maurier in the romantic novel of the same name. Continuing along the creek will bring you to Helford Village where you can enjoy a fantastic seafood platter, a cream tea or simply stroll along the shoreline looking out to the idyllic Helford River, one of Britain's finest sailing waters. Provisions can be bought in the village store of Mawgan and a mile and a half away is Gear Farm, with an organic farm shop whilst Helston is 8 miles away. This is a superb retreat for those looking to enjoy the stunning scenery of the Helford River.

Helford is a picturesque village on the south side of the Helford River. Helford is very popular with its thatched cottages, excellent village stores and especially The Shipwrights Arms, right on the edge of the creek with its waterside terrace. Just a short walk away is Frenchman’s Creek, immortalised by Daphne du Maurier. The Helford River Sailing Club is very popular and a regatta is held every August. In the summer a passenger ferry runs to Helford passage, the home of the Ferryboat Inn, and nearby to the gardens of Trebah and Glendurgan. If you would like to take a step back from the rat race, slow down, and slip into the rhythm of country life, this is the place - and you even get a chance to practice slowing down when you negotiate the narrow roads that abound in this area of Cornwall. The owners live in and run the farm in which the property is set, and could not be more kind and thoughtful, without in any way being intrusive. They are happy to give you as little or as much of their attention as you wish. Frenchman's Creek is just 10 -15 minutes walk through the woods, Helford Village less than 30 minutes further on. Some Do's and Don't's: DO try the ice creams at Gwella Dairy in St Martin DO visit the Pasty Shop at Gear DO venture out for a walk to Frenchman's Creek DO visit Gunwalloe Beach if you want to be able to wander without crowds of people around DO visit Coverack - really picturesque But: DON'T expect courtesy or politeness or "customer first" if you visit Holy Mackerel at Helford - however good the food may be! DON'T trust your Satnav to find Withan Farm - follow the instructions given when you make your booking. DON'T expect to find lots of available dates if you want to book this property again! Happy holiday!

Very well equipped and very comfortable. Area is great with lots of quiet lane walks from the property. The owners were friendly and helpful and even though the Cornish weather was unpredictable we still had an amazing time and would definitely use it again.
