"Well appointed comfortable cottage - ideal for a family. The welcome pack was particularly good and the attention to detail in making our stay enjoyable was much appreciated ."

"The details should indicate that the cottage is on a very busy and noisy road."
    Confirmed Guest – 26 Feb 2018
"Great cottage, beautifully kept in a lovely location"
    Confirmed Guest – 21 Feb 2018
"A lovely cottage, cosy and very comfortable. I did not quite give it 5 stars, as the kitchen floor was very cold and we found that space really cold in the mornings. However, the cottage seemed to warm up after a few days. Perhaps the cottage was not heated up enough before we arrived...All facilities and amenities were excellent! Lovely welcome pack. There were no dishwasher tablets, which we have had before. Otherwise it was a wonderful experience and we will be back again."

"One shower had a leaking hose (fixed) quickly.Only one refuse bin not enough for four people for a week over new year.We found the sofa cushions to be "tired".However overall we had a good time.May I suggest that all cottages have a "defect" book. This book is replaced by the cleaners with another one, the book from the cleaned cottage is returned to Head Office leaving a book at the cottage at all times. This would help to ensure all cottages are maintained to your excellent standard."

"Cosy cottage in a beautiful village, spotlessly clean, lovely hamper. Well done to the lady that looks after the cottage."

"Lovely cottage in convenient village. Best cottage I have had from Rural Retreats for the dog - safe, enclosed and a reasonable size with a lawn. Thank you."

"This cottage was like home from home, so comfortable and we especially liked garden! The only negative was the smell from the fire, old burnt smell!"

    "Well equipped, comfortable, good location."

    "Actually between average and good."

"Rosemary Cottage was simply perfect, from the moment we closed those gates, we where in peaceful perfection. The garden and patio where well used, the kitchen is very well equipped and so relaxing for that morning cuppa, with the stable doors open listening to the dawn chorus, watch for cheeky blackbird that sit on the stable door waiting for your toast crusts. The lounge is a relaxing and comfy retreat to enjoy and evening around the open fire whilst reading or engaging in one of the many family board games. If you want to venture further afield, I am reliably informed that less than 80 paces from the front door The Golden Ball, offers liquid refreshments and sumptuous meals and your four legged friend is welcome too. Mix in the beautiful countryside and walks, well what else could you ask for... Oh yes to stay longer x"

"Still like this property after several return visits. But, a little attention to the lighting in the bathrooms necessary,(very dim, not helped by two lights being out of action -not a simple matter of bulb replacement) and the central heating - had to purchase a bleed key and bleed all the radiators. The house was not as warm as previously. The logs are almost impossible to burn (probably not seasoned) and have noticed this over the last three stays (Am used to burning logs in log fires). Otherwise, very nice as usual."

"Cottage was lovely and extremely well equipped. Very clean and welcoming, Special attention to detail with the welcome hamper as it was Christmas. There was even a decorated Christmas tree waiting for us with the mince pies."

"As much as this is a characteristic and genuinely old cottage with much charm ,which we totally wanted.. we found the actual facilities super disappointing. the shower is basically unusable in the main bathroom as there is a huge timber piece right at head level . pretty dangerous. ,similar for the bath which half of our bodies could fit into only!.Also the single room bed was of terrible quality ,it was again barely usable and our little girl got very little sleep. the kitchen was well equipped and really pleasant the front room very nice. The best thing about the cottage sadly was the hamper which was very well put together and greatly appreciated. Im sad ,as this cottage we have stayed in before when my daughter was in a moses basket in the main room and being a smaller party at the time ,it wasn't too bad ,but with max capacity this time, the in laws and a bigger child ! i certainly wouldn't stay again..... its a shame as lower swell is just gorgeous. I think the owner really also needs to look at the flush in the main toilet which was again malfunctioning quite badly and took at least 3 flushes to clear the system ."

"Cottage misrepresented by description of it overlooking village green. The latter was a small triangle of grass at the junction of 3 roads and the cottage actually sat on the busiest of these! Our image of the classic green with pub, church and cricket pitch was cruelly disappointed! Although clean and well presented, the interior shots of the cottage are very flattering and I was disappointed by how much darker and smaller the sitting room actually was.The welcome pack was really excellent though, but, for the price, there could have been red wine alongside the white, as neither of us drink that!"

"Welcome hamper was lovely, location of cottage excellent. Could be improved by having some written instructions/info of the local walks in the cottage as most people going there would benefit from that more personal info. Thought the cottage price was slightly expensive for what it was but over all good."

"Great cottage, as described and very comfortable, excepting the bed in the single bedroom which was very uncomfortable almost to the point of not being useable. On one occasion the window cleaners accessed the property via rear doors to garden, which we weren't expecting and our dog was in the garden, which could have resulted in someone being bitten (it didn't) - this possibility needs to be flagged or communicated in advance? Despite a 10 night stay, we received no contact from the housekeeper; it would have been nice for towels to have been changed etc., although admittedly we didn't try to phone and laundered them ourselves. There were no specific instructions around waste recycling, so we were a little unsure of what went where etc - information could be improved."

"It was a beautiful cottage - clean, tidy and well kept garden. However we had only 1 match and enough logs for a few days, we decided to buy more logs from the garden centre as we were enjoying the fire only to find on our return home there had been a log delivery - had we known we would have unlocked the wood store (instead our boys had the job of putting all logs in the store) my point is that a note from the housekeeper on our arrival would have been appreciated. Overall we very much enjoyed our stay and our boys loved that they learned to play chess with your chess set (which has a pawn missing but we improvised). Even though it was dog friendly and we in fact brought our dog, there were no dog hairs around or doggy smells. The equipment was adequate and it was good to have washer/dryer facilities which meant no holiday washing when we arrived home. The bedroom tv was a bit temperamental - something to do with the scarf connection I think my husband said. There was plenty of water pressure. The light in the ensuite was temperamental in that you had to pull the cord for 3 or 4 seconds before it would switch on. Overall we were impressed with the cottage, facilities and housekeeping service - we very much enjoyed our stay thank you"

"This is the second cottage we have rented and we couldn't fault the first one,I'm sorry I forget the name, but I'm afraid I was very disappointed with Rosemary cottage. The cottage decor I think looks tired and there are lots of areas where it has obviously been damp so the walls/wallpaper has brown marks around the affected area. The shower in the bathroom was simply useless,I'm just glad I don't have long hair! The television in the lounge only had BBC1 and BBC2,I don't think this is acceptable. The best thing about the cottage I'm afraid was the welcome hamper. I'm sorry I can't be more positive."

"I mistakenly left a pair of earrings at the cottage. I emailed you and got no reply at all so I rang customer service and was put on to the housekeeper who was going to clean the cottage that day. I asked her to text me and let me know if she found the earrings or not. She did not bother to text either way. As far as I can see all you are concerned with is making money. Will you answer this comment - on past form NO. A very dissatisfied customer"

"The house was charming, clean, and well equipped with good quality furnishings, bedding, and kitchen items, though I wish the fridge had been larger. The welcome hamper was generous; in fact we had to give some items to neighbours there was so much of it. It took us several chilly days to figure out how to turn on the heat; it might be a good idea to let people know where the thermostat is. We just never noticed it in the stairwell. It was disappointing that the Internet was not available except at considerable cost; we are from Canada and email was the only way to keep in touch with our children so I had to go to the pub or into Stow to contact them; that was a bit inconvenient. Also, we probably would not have rented the cottage if we had known it was on the main road through the village. There is nothing in the information about the cottage that tells you where it is situated. Overall, we enjoyed our stay. We had never spent any time in the Cotswolds before and this gave us a chance to become familiar with another corner of England. We are keen walkers and there are lots of walks right from the door."

"My 60th Birthday Surprise! Fantastic cottage. Everything you could wish for. Very warm and we loved the fire, which definitely added to the 'cosiness' of the cottage. Enjoyed local walks into the snow. Longer walk to The Slaughters very exhilerating. The Golden Ball provided an excellent meal for my birthday complete with the trimmings. My first Rural Retreat experience and stay in the Cotswolds. We would definitely come again and would highly recommend Rosemary Cottage. RB, 21.01.2013"

"Felt like we had arrived at the scene of 'The Holiday' with Cameron Diaz. A lovely quaint English country cottage in a quaint English village. We had lots of walks in all sorts of different places within driving distance. But we discovered so many walks ranging from 3-6 miles from the house that we never used the car! A particular favourite was to Lower and Upper Slaughter and back. With lovely lunch at the Lower Slaughter Country Inn which was really dog friendly. The Golden Ball - the local pub, gave us a very warm welcome. Stow is worth a visit and the Queen's Head pub was friendly too. Wish we could stay for another week. Really loved being so relaxed.
