With accommodation all on the ground floor, this cottage allows easy access for anyone in a wheelchair or those who are less mobile and there is ramped access up to the front door, whilst inside there are low light switches and high power sockets, a wheelchair-accessible shower cubicle and wide doorways. The large fitted kitchen is well equipped and is open to the dining area, and the cosy sitting room has a woodburner-style electric stove. There are three bedrooms at this lovely holiday home offering flexible sleeping arrangements for any family staying, and completing the accommodation are a bathroom and shower room. Outside this charming cottage are a number of places where you can relax and unwind on a sunny day, including a front lawned garden, a terrace and a courtyard area. Surrounded by open countryside, the cottage is an excellent base for those who enjoy walking, cycling and horseriding. Just 2.5 miles away is the market town of Kirkby Stephen, which offers shops, restaurants and pubs, while the Settle-Carlisle Railway, the Howgill Fells, Pennines and the ruins of Brough and Pendragon castles are all within easy reach. Also the Lake District, Yorkshire Dales and the Durham Dales, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty are all within a half hour drive. A superb cottage, close to many places of interest.

Situated on the banks of the longest river in Cumbria, the appropriately named River Eden, Soulby is a picturesque hamlet comprising of a few traditional cottages surrounded by rolling countryside. Just two miles away you will find Kirkby Stephen, a small town in the Upper Eden Valley that was formerly in the old county of Westmorland, now Cumbria. This is an area of Cumbria much less well-known than the Lake District, but equally appealing. A traditional market town comprising of historic buildings, cobbled yards, quaint corners and interesting shops, Kirkby Stephen has a station on the famous scenic Settle/Carlisle line and is an ideal centre from which to travel the line. The surrounding area boasts many sites of historic interest including parish churches and castles such as Brougham, Brough, Pendragon and Lammerside.
